Change in 5 minutes or less.

You can begin to build a new habit or create change in less than 5 minutes a day.

Wait, is this for real?

Individuals create habits or learned behaviors, over time, through repeated actions. Whether these actions lean towards positivity or negativity, they eventually solidify into habits.

So, when you’re striving for change the key is to recognize the core behavior that forms the foundation for the habit.

This involves cultivating growth by shedding "negative" behaviors and nurturing "positive" ones. You create a strategy for behavioral transformation.

Here’s an example:

Scenario: Let's say you tend to engage in self-criticism, undermining your confidence and falling into a negative feedback loop. The solution and ultimate goal are to interrupt the initial thought that triggers this negativity. 

We're not advocating for sudden drastic changes (they usually aren't sustainable) or complex plans (hello, squirrel!).

Instead, adopt a new behavioral prompt that can be completed in under 5 minutes. 

Solution: The change might involve setting a timer or leaving a reminder note to spend 2 minutes focusing on something positive about yourself each morning.

This way, you begin your day and ultimately the self-evaluation process with a positive outlook. By shifting your mindset towards positivity first, you briefly break the cycle of negativity, paving the way to depart from the old pattern.

Is building new habits always smooth sailing or easy?

Certainly not.

You’ll fail sometimes and have to redirect yourself. But, with commitment to building this new behavior consistently each day, you provide the best possible footing for building a new habit.

Your behavior will gradually evolve, giving rise to fresh, more constructive habits.
